Review: Westworld | A Show That Transports You To A Different World

December 23, 2018

The HBO series Westworld provides a beautiful look into an alternate universe, but it doesn’t turn out to be the paradise it’s promised to be. The show is a slow burn that builds into an ultimate climax that makes your jaw drop.

The series provides a look into a future that doesn’t seem unrealistic. It centers around a place called Westworld, where humans can attend an “adult amusement park” and do whatever they please in the world and to the hosts – who are sophisticated robots.

There are so many different stories and people that are important to the body of the show. The three characters that spark the most interest in me and are some of the key elements to the story in my opinion are Bernard, Dolores, and Maeve.

What makes this show so spectacular is the series ability to display characters who you may not see as real because they are robots. But things start to change and these robots start to develop more complicated emotions.

Maeve and Dolores are my two favorite characters in the show and that’s because the complexity of their motives is fascinating.

They both express and deploy their depth of knowledge on others and provide an army to support them on their endeavors. This is what makes them so interesting because they both are robots and aren’t supposed to have this amount of developed knowledge.

Season 1 and 2 of Westworld are truly all out chaos and always leaving you wanting more after each episode. The creators of the show and the actors are able to portray an abundant amount of stories that create such a fantastic viewing experience.

When the world starts to fall apart is really when we start to see the climax and the show get rolling. It’s when we see characters unravel, and everyone is trying to figure out what’s going on – even the audience.

Westworld is so innovative and just when you think they run out of content or writing material they always shock the audience with twists and turns, and extra storyline without it feeling messy.

The ability for the show to never seem jumbled or fuzzy is truly amazing because there is so much depth to every story that it’s easy to get lost, but Westworld doesn’t allow that.

Being able to lose yourself in a different world within a show is something special. Westworld provides us with a different world, characters and stories, that are complex. The show is a force in the TV world, and I assume it will be for a long time.

I give Westworld an A
