Review: Zombieland: Double Tap | Recreates the Chemistry, and Action of the First Film in a Significant Way

November 3, 2019

Zombieland: Double Tap is a fun new sequel created a decade later, and still delivers the same charm the first film had. Now, is this one better than the first? No, but it’s still such an exciting journey like the first film.

One of the best things about the film is that the original cast all comes back to reprise their roles. They bring back that same feel as the first film in a more elevated way. Zombieland: Double Tap plays out like a bunch of little pit stops and each one of them is a blast.

Zoey Deutch is a new member of the team and is pure perfection. She’s actually my favorite part of the movie and the funniest part of the movie in my opinion. She plays the stereotypical ditsy and dumb character, but actually gives her real depth and makes the character sand out instead of fade.

Jesse Eisenberg and Emma Stone are also great in the film and provide us with an excellent side story throughout the movie. Woody Harrelson elevates his character and gives him new life, along with some refreshing new values that differ from the first film.

The idea that the zombies have evolved and have become smarter as time has gone on was a great new aspect to the film. We’ve all seen the typical zombie movie and Zombieland: Double Tap builds on the originality of the first film. I do wish the new zombies had more time on screen. The zombie kills and action are entertaining as hell and never let up and remind us all why we loved the first film so much.

I believe it’s not as good as the first movie, but it still delivers the same impact in such a fun way. I was in no way let down by this sequel and was actually impressed with how good it was.

They could’ve made it feel exactly the same as the first but gave this sequel new little bits which elevated the story and the characters. Zombieland: Double Tap is a fun and exciting movie that delivers great laughs, and zombie kills. You will not be disappointed at the long wait we had for this sequel because it’s wonderfully executed.

I give Zombieland: Double Tap an A-
