Spider Man: No Way Home | A Return to the Marvel Epic

December 25, 2021

Spider Man: No Way Home is a return to the massive blockbusters we remember and in a quality and exhilarating way. Marvel has still been putting out content since Endgame which have all been great. Since endgame it seemed Marvel was taking a more meaningful approach to their films which I loved, but it was refreshing to be put back into a large high stakes world again.

This Spider Man installment is the first endgame level event and I forgot how exciting that can make a person feel. I felt the excitement every moment during the film and every moment leading up to going to see it. No Way Home was a full event and that’s something truly special.

Now, the movie itself is something to behold. There is an epic nature to what you’re seeing on screen and it captivates you from start to finish. Spider Man is at his most Spider Man here and while you still feel like he needs someone to mentor him you also feel he’s ready to take on the world on his own.

The villains, the fight scenes and surprisingly even the dialogue were top notch. It was funny, heartbreaking, and exciting all at the same time. The idea that there is a multiverse and the fact that Marvel takes that idea head on is so exciting and I can’t wait to see how this story progresses.

Willer Dafoe as Green Goblin and Alfred Molina as Doc Oc are absolutely fantastic and definitely give off that sinister yet pitiful vibe they needed for the story. Every moment of this movie captivated you. One thing I wished was that because there is so much going on it can be hard for the story to focus in and take its time with certain ideas or characters.

That being said Tom Holland and Zendaya are absolutely fantastic. They have such chemistry together and you can believe the connection between them that has now moved off screen.

Like I’ve said this No Way Home is spider man at his most spider man. He’s swinging through the city constantly, making mistakes that make him seem more human and relatable. But, they don’t let go of the fact that he is still a super hero and what gifts and what burdens that can have on a person.

Spider Man: No Way Home is Marvel at its best and taking it back to its roots. There’s also a freshness and a vastness to the story that you can see it sets up multiple storylines going forward. It’s an exciting movie and a movie that is truly an event. Watching the multiverse unfold on the big screen is exciting enough and to keep it going through this new phase of marvel is going to be something refreshing and exhilarating at the same time.

I give Spider Man: No Way Home an A
