Recently last summer I got the pleasure to go to my favorite dessert place Milk Bar. The one I visited was in the Cosmopolitan hotel in Las Vegas. They have other locations in New York City, LA, D.C. and Toronto. It is truly an indulgent experience and is something that will make you want to go back for more. I was able to try the cookies and the crack pie ice cream which were amazingly crafted.
The ice cream was velvety smooth and the cookies were insanely soft. Christina Tosi who owns Milk Bar is a baking powerhouse who doesn’t do anything special instead she just takes you back to your childhood. To be able to create a luxury experience that makes you think of your childhood shows how extraordinary Milk Bar is.
The way that she creates things are so different yet so simple and it takes you on a journey. The idea that anyone can bake if they put enough love and care into their baking is a core value of Christina Tosi and Milk Bar.
The ability to create something so simple like a cookie and ice cream and leave you with an experience that is unlike any other is extraordinary. I tried the confetti cookie, the cornflake cookie, and crack pie ice cream.
The confetti cookie was soft and so delightful to eat that I had to slow myself down so i could enjoy it all. The crack pie ice cream had this buttery oat taste that was sublime and was some of the creamiest ice creams i’ve ever had. Lastly, the corn flake cookie was unlike anything i’ve ever had because to take something that everyone knows and make it into a cookie takes you immediately back to your childhood.
Milk Bar creates an experience that makes you want to go back and get more. I have craved Milk Bar ever since taking the first bite of cookie and ice cream. I plan to try the staples next time I visit which are crack pie, and cereal milk ice cream. It is a treat for the taste buds and truly now a cult classic among deserts and is somewhere I plan to vist again very soon.
